Violetta Markelou is a commercial, editorial, fashion photographer with extensive training in the fields of glamour, special effects and theatrical makeup for photography and film. She is self-taught in the areas of glamour/fashion makeup and makeup for photography. Her formal training for theatrical and special effects makeup comes from Montgomery College Maryland and the University of Maryland in Baltimore County.

Violetta holds a BFA degree in Photography from the University of Maryland in Baltimore County Maryland. She has working knowledge of digital, 35 mm and large format cameras for black and white and color photography. Although she loves to photograph in natural light, she has extensive training in a studio environment as well as creating her own setting using found objects and props.
